“Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name
and renown are the desire of our hearts.” Isaiah 26:8
Worship at First Baptist Church Weslaco is a time where we respond to God’s truth. It is our response to God’s redemptive action through Christ Jesus – our expression of praise and thanksgiving to the presence of God’s spirit in our lives.
We present four worship services each Sunday at 8:30 AM (in English), 11:00 AM (one in English and one in Spanish) and 5:00 PM (in Spanish). In each of our worship services you can count on the following:
Our Pastor will preach the Word of God
The exact message depends on where God leads our Pastor. Sometimes he will lead a series of lessons about a particular topic or person in the Bible. Sometimes he will focus on an event such as Christmas or Easter. Sometimes he will respond to a special situation such as 9/11.
But in every sermon, our Pastor will present real solutions from the Bible to deal with real problems that you face every day. Practical advice you can use. Things you need to know.
Our Pastor teaches us using exegesis, exposition and hermeneutics. Watch for these in every sermon and see how they enhance his message. If you are not sure what these terms mean, click here.
Our Music Pastor will lead our praise and worship
The style of music at FBC Weslaco varies among the services in order for us to best minister to multiple generations and different cultures. The early service features traditional hymns, the middle service uses a more contemporary blended format, and the evening service is orientated toward an Hispanic audience. In every service, we use the best technology and communications available.
Baptisms happen in all services. The Lord’s Supper is observed four times each year.
