Our Lord told us to start a church in Nuevo Progresso.

Nuevo Progresso, Mexico is a relatively nice border town. It is a good place to buy souvenirs, low cost prescription medicine and authentic Mexican food. Like so much of Latin America, it is also the scene of grinding poverty.

This is a home in Nuevo Progresso just behind the façade of Main Street. It is only about 10 miles from our church.

Nuevo Progresso is also a world away.

Jesus sent us to help these people. We always start by giving away something they need – like food, water, shoes or eye care. This brings the people out in droves. They line up while our Missions Pastor Guillermo Lopez delivers a brief message from our Lord.

It is winter and many people are too poor to buy coats – so they come wrapped in blankets.

Clothes make the perfect gift. Garments which we no longer want can be a treasure for others.

After we hand out our gifts, we invite people to attend our worship services where we preach the Word of God.

Most people stay. And most listen intently.

This woman is accepting Christ as her Lord. She is now one of more than 50 people who regularly attend our services every week. And she almost always brings her baby.

Here you see a couple of our Winter Texans helping the people of Nuevo Progresso. They are such a blessing to our ministries. We treasure their assistance.

How you can help
Over two million Mexicans live in a band from Matamoros (south of Brownsville) to Reynosa (south of McAllen). There are dozens of communities and hundreds of churches scattered throughout the area. Almost all need sponsors and our help.

We never have enough clothes, shoes, diapers, food, or manpower. Your gifts, prayers and talents are always treasured. If you can help in any of these areas, you can contact our church offices here.
