In the past two years, we have helped devoted servants of Christ minister to more than a quarter of a million people.
There are tens of thousands of dedicated local Christian pastors, Sunday school teachers and others leading congregations throughout Latin America. Like this class in Peru, they are all dedicated to our Lord. Unfortunately, many of these people are poorly educated and almost all lack basic seminary training. That is where our Lord told us to help.
In recognition of this need, we have conducted seven pastor training seminars in Mexico and Peru. Among other things, we provide the pastors with books, including a study Bible, reference material, and a devotional. Information they will use for the rest of their lives.
We provide one week of intense training using professors from US seminaries. We present an overview of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. We also teach practical subjects like sermon preparation, biblical interpretation and pastoral counseling. 12-15 hours per day.
Our attendees bond with each other – and with us.
Almost all of the pastors bring their families – who get to know each other during the day.
The Pastors make contacts they will use for the rest of their ministerial career – including ties which enable us to serve them better.
Over 900 pastors attended our schools to date. With an average congregation of more than 50 families, we have enabled these pastors to provide better Christian leadership to more than 250,000 persons.
How you can help
It costs us about $250 per pastor to conduct a seminar. This includes food, lodging, a study bible, other reference materials, a graduation banquet, and the faculty.
On average, each attendee ministers to about 50 families. That means that for every pastor sponsored, we can provide better Christian care to around 250 people – for only $1.00 per person. And this benefit carries on year after year. For the money, this program offers one of the highest returns on investment of just about any ministry.
