This past Christmas, our music ministry staged an outstanding presentation titled “The Gift of Jesus.”

This Roman soldier is really our Music Pastor, Steve Chamblin. Steve wrote, produced, directed and starred in the musical. Steve took the story from a best selling book.

In real life, Pastor Steve’s a wonderful person – but this night he conspired with some wicked Pharisees to kill our Lord.

These are some locals from Galilee. They did a great job singing – but they really didn’t understand who Jesus was. At least not at this stage of the production.

This is a close-up of some villagers. By now, they are starting to figure out that Jesus is special.

These people even began to worship Jesus as the Messiah.

Look what Pastor Steve did to our Lord!

Or, at least to our Caleb Swaringen.

Caleb and his wife Christy are incredibly talented individuals who serve in our music ministry, particularly as part of the contemporary worship service. This summer, they are ministering to orphans in Guatemala. You can read more about their ministry here.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get much worse, Pastor Steve dragged our Pastor Guillermo Lopez into the plot. Here, they are conspiring with another evil Roman to seal our Lord in the tomb and make sure he stays dead.

Their plot didn’t work.

Just when the disciples began to give up all hope, an amazing thing happened at the tomb. Here, you see our choir explaining what transpired, and why it is so important for everyone – then, now and tomorrow.

It turns out that Pastor Steve got things exactly right in the end.

The greatest Christmas gift of all is the gift of eternal life. It is precious beyond any other thing, but free to all who will accept it. It is the gift that only Jesus can give.

That is our choir sings praises to God. And it is why we worship Jesus as our Savior and obey him as our Lord.

How you can help
We will present the musical again this year. We expect more interest from the community because the word of its quality has got out. If you would like to participate, you can contact Pastor Steve at any worship service, you can drop by the church office, or you can click here.
